WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1951, the Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a global conservation organization dedicated to conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends. Guided by science, we create innovative, on-the-ground and scalable solutions to our world’s toughest challenges so that nature and people can thrive together. This decade is critical for the planet; the global community must address the dual crises of climate change and biodiversity loss to put us on a path to sustainability. We are committed to making a meaningful contribution to these challenges through our 2030 goals, which are aligned with the United Nations global agenda on biodiversity and climate. One of our core values is our commitment to diversity. Therefore, we strive for a globally diverse and culturally competent workforce. Working in 72 countries we use a collaborative approach that engages local communities, governments, the private sector, and other partners. We are tackling climate change, conserving lands, waters and oceans at unprecedented scale, providing food and water sustainably and helping make cities more sustainable. To implement these priorities, we collaborate actively in a non-confrontational manner with public sector agencies, NGOs, academia, business and the finance sector. The portfolio of The Nature Conservancy’s regional program in Europe prioritizes the partnership with European public agencies to advance priority biodiversity and climate policy agendas that are critical at a global scope by leveraging our science, thought leadership, relationship management and strategic communications.
