What success looks like in this role:
Role Purpose:
- Responsible for supporting the functionality and efficiency of one or more operating systems.
- Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and validating and implementing critical system patches and system upgrades.
Activities:
- Responsible for supporting the functionality and efficiency of the mainframe MCP operating systems.
- Deliver second and/or third level hardware and software/OS support services to resolve product use and multi-product/platform problems and questions relating to MCP based enterprise systems, networks and application software.
- Responsible for user administration, monitoring of servers, and monitoring antivirus updates.
- Perform daily checks on servers, analyze logs.
- Conduct performance tuning of servers.
- Conduct incident investigation. Conduct detailed troubleshooting of incidents and upgradation and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Resolve well defined incidents using documented procedures.
- Review change requests, execute complex changes, and prepare and execute changes per implementation plans.
- Perform root cause analysis for mainframe MCP related incidents.
- Coordinate critical system issues as well as new product and/or system implementations.
- Relay alerts and situation status information to client’s system management.
- Report detailed factual and analysis information on MCP incidents to the UIS support services and follow-up their resolution.
- Prepare the implementation of technical documentation and ensure that technical documentation is current and complete. Identify and perform a variety of independent analysis and problem resolution assignments.

Development related tasks:
- Develop and implement specific programs as required in the interconnection of the system and applications/ network elements.
- Responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and support of systems and processes supporting the configuration management process
- Performs detailed design of components. Responsible for configuring, programming and testing technical architecture components. Fixes defects and performance related problems.
- May perform development, testing and implementation of processes used for configuration management, deployment and automation.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- 3-5 years of IT experience.
- Proven experience within the field of system administration, networking, database administration.
- Experience with team coordination / people management is an advantage.
- Development background and mindset is a plus (if you are familiar with Java / SQL scripting that would be an advantage).
- Committed personality. Open to learn Unisys products – especially within ClearPath offerings ( Enterprise Computing Services: ClearPath | Unisys ).
